Biography

Laurie McClure is an artist living in Washington state. Born on April 8th, 1990, in Longview, WA, and currently resides in Toledo, WA. Laurie's been developing her distinctive approach to visual art with her education in color theory and aesthetics and a past career in professional makeup artistry. Laurie's current artwork is a medley of heartfelt watercolor portraits, conceptual paintings that often merge beauty and nature, and painted illustrations of expressive characters. 

Artist Statement

I find myself inspired by day-to-day living: the people and animals I love in times of joy and grief. When the viewer sees my art, my intentions are for them to feel these sentiments that I put into my craft; the complexities of life and humanism make the characters shown in my work unique. The meaning of my artwork isn't always direct but rather a mixture of thoughts & concepts coupled together.
